Old Town Mixed-Use Rezoning for Backroom Tea Lounge
A one-third-acre lot at 207 West Purnell Street was rezoned from single-family to Old Town Mixed Use 2 so the Backroom Tea Lounge can operate legally. Neighbors worry about traffic, parking, and what business could replace the tea room someday, but staff said the tiny lot limits what can be built there.
Zoning Change for Commercial Development
The council considered rezoning two properties to allow for commercial and light industrial development. One property at 1135 West FM 3040 was rezoned from Medical to Local Commercial to accommodate a veterinary clinic. Another property at 1707 Bunker Hill Lane was rezoned from Agriculture-Open Space to Light Industrial for new commercial businesses.
